Newark Parks Foundation needs Writers to inspire and educate the public on parks and recreation projects spearheaded by NPF. These projects include, dog parks, bike parks, skateparks, and biking.
Your subjects will be chosen, but you have lots of freedom over your prose. You will use outlets such at Newark Connection, Newark/Fremont Patch, Tri-City Voice, and the Argus. If your editorial skills are exceptional; your writing style is inspiring; and you're looking to build your writing portfolio, we'd be honored to put your talents to use.

Newark Parks Foundation mobilizes financial and community support to deliver thriving, accessible, supported, and varied parks, open spaces, and recreational opportunities for a healthy and united Newark.
Description
Newark Parks Foundation will support new and existing parks, open spaces, and recreation in and around Newark, California, for the enjoyment and benefit of the citizens of Newark. The Foundation will do so by:
- Organizing volunteers to build and/or maintain parks and park amenities/structures.
- Organizing user groups to identify the community’s unmet recreational needs.
- Applying for grants to support the Foundation’s capital projects and, as needed, right-of-way leases.
- Identifying partnerships between surrounding cities and park districts.
- Publishing articles to generate public support for parks and to educate the general public on the state of parks and recreation.
- Sponsoring/organizing park support events, including trash pickup events.
