A non-profit arts organization is seeking a dynamic Volunteer Coordinator to help recruit and manage a team of volunteers for several high profile programs and events. Must be extremely organized, have great communication skills and be able to resolve challenges on the spot at on-site events. You will be responsible for managing an active volunteer list and scheduling volunteers to work events and help with other tasks including the distribution of promotional materials at community events. Assistant with recruiting and retaining new volunteers for our programs. Please send your resume and a short letter describing what you would contribute as a team leader.

African Voices Communications, Inc is a non-profit arts organization devoted to supporting art, literature and film by artists of color.

Description

Founded in 1992, the organization publishes a national literary magazine and sponors community programs for emerging artists including literary readings, writers conferences and workshops, a film festival for women of color and other events. African Voices runs the Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series and Get Your Read On!, an arts literacy program for young people in low income communities.
