As part of the We Honor Veterans program, it is our goal to help provide the best possible care to our Veterans at end of life. We know a Veteran to veteran bond is larger than life and your unique shared history is a valuable asset to building trust and companionship. If you're Veteran who would like to visit patients who are also Veterans, give us a call.
We also need help with pinning ceremonies, Memorial Day and Veterans Day celebrations. We look forward to hearing from you.
Training and Support:
All Lexington Veteran Volunteers receive a comprehensive training that includes hospice philosophy, hospice services, end-of-life issues associated with caring for the terminally ill, effective communication skills with patients and family members, family dynamics and grief and loss education.

Mission Statement
Lexington Hospice focuses on enhancing quality of life while preserving dignity for end of life needs. We provide care, compassion and support for patients and their loved ones.
Description
Hospice is a special way of caring for patients and families when illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatment. Hospice is a special way of caring for patients experiencing a life-limiting illness and is a way of living as well as a plan of care. The Lexington hospice team of physicians, nurses, volunteers, chaplains, bereavement counselors, and social workers partner with the patient and the patient's family to develop a plan of care that is right for the patient. Lexington respects the patient's individuality. We support the patient's freedom of choice plus the need to preserve dignity and to retain control of life.
