We are looking for long term volunteers to help with the day to day opperations of the Los Angeles Community Corps! Volunteers will help Community Corps members prepare for sessions by managing materials used in classroom activities. Volunteers will also support office staff with operational tasks such as data entry and filing paperwork.
Community Corps started in 2004 with the intent of creating meaningful, intergenerational relationships between preschool children and community members. Community Corps members often join Jumpstart directly in the communities where they live, fostering even deeper connections with the children and families they serve. Through their support, Jumpstart children develop the core language, literacy, and social-emotional development skills for success in kindergarten and beyond.

Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
