ORGANIZATION: Rural Dynamics

Join the Montana Economic Opportunity VISTA project for a one year term!

MEO's goal is to strengthen three specific objectives within low income communities: improving access to financial literacy, developing transitional plans and/or continuity strategies to keep low income individuals in safe, affordable housing, and to improve employ-ability among under and unemployed Montanans.

This culinary workforce training program aims to provide chronically under and unemployed individuals with opportunities for gainful, lasting employment. This program is about developing the skills and personal abilities within the clients so that they may achieve their goals, gain financial independence and build the credentials and resources necessary for a successful livelihood. By creating higher level training options along the career pathway. Expand the program by engaging community partners to create work sites specifically for program graduates entering the job market. This program alleviates poverty by lifting the barriers preventing individuals from successfully entering the workforce and retaining employment. Coupled with comprehensive wrap-around services, the participants aren't just tossed into the workplace; they are guided into mentored pathways where they have the structure to get a running start and the security to know they are always supported no matter what they face.

They will ensure that the culinary arts and hospitality career pathway has a complete track and capstone program on-board. The VISTA will work closely with case managers, workforce development team and the economic development unit.
