Join other talented volunteers in the fight against heart disease and stroke by serving on the Heart & Stroke Walk Logistics Committee. The Committee will meet once a month to plan and execute a fun, safe, and successful 5K walk/run. All Committee members are required to volunteer at the event on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Responsibilities include: attending monthly meetings, securing in-kind donations, recruiting volunteers, and overseeing the implementation of one of these five areas:

VIP TEAM

- Recruit, train, and monitor VIP volunteers
- Manage VIP Breakfast, including decorations, check-in, prize procurement
- Assemble VIP Goody Bags (with procured items)
- Assist with event take-down

VOLUNTEER TEAM

- Identify and recruit new volunteers for DAY BEFORE set-up and DAY OF event support
- Assign and manage volunteers on day of event
- Manage volunteer check-in, provide volunteer resources for the check-in area and secure breakfast for day of volunteers
- Assist with event take down

ROUTE TEAM

- Recruit, train, and monitor volunteers for route
- Walk route and anticipate areas of confusion to make the Walk seamless and safe
- Coordinate placement of route signage and route volunteers
- Work with entertainment committee to place per-formers in key locations along route

ENTERTAINMENT TEAM

- Plan and secure National Anthem singer, dancers, street performers for day of event
- Secure photographers to take pictures of Festival Teams, Sponsors, and Events
- Act as stage managers for opening ceremonies
- Work with Festival Committee on Kids Zone, Pet Zone, Survivor Tent, Memorial Wall
- Assist with Event take-down

FESTIVAL TEAM

- Recruit, train, and monitor volunteers
- Execute certain booth activities such as Kid Zone, Pet Zone, Survivor Tent, Memorial Wall
- Help set up festival areas (signs & tents) and work with coordinator to ensure sponsors’ needs are met

- Assist with event take-down
