Kindred Hospice's mission is to help patients remain at home and in their own communities surrounded by friends and family, while receiving the highest-quality, most compassionate care possible at end-of-life. The hospice team usually consists of the person receiving care, the patient’s family and loved ones, the patient’s personal physician, our medical director, nurses, certified nursing assistants, social workers, counselors and spiritual caregivers, trained volunteers, and other professionals such as speech, physical, and occupational therapists, as needed.

Kindred Hospice cares for patients in facilities and homes throughout Massachusetts. Volunteers can choose where, when and how to give their time. We offer orientations and trainings to fit your busy schedule.

Wouldn’t it be nice to provide a patient or family with a painting of themselves in the country they loved or give the gift of memory back to them? You could also help create a memory of something that a loved one used to enjoy with the patient, such as playing catch or going to the movies together. Many of the individuals we work with have vivid and fond memories of good times. The only thing missing is a picture to hold on to. As an artist, you are able to provide patients and families with something that cannot always be captured in a photograph. We are looking for volunteers to do just that for our patients and families. If you are an artist or caricature artist who enjoys spending time with people, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
