Volunteers at SouthernCare provide joy and support to patients and families at a very crucial time in their lives. Being a part of this wonderful program would include different tasks and assignments meant to improve the lives of our patients for the time they have left and provide comfort and support to their families. We're always looking for new, creative ideas and any additional support you could offer would be appreciated.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Visit with Patient/FamilyDeliver Goodie Bags or Flowers
Run Errands
Relieve a Caregiver
Read to/or with a Patient
Write Letters or Journal with a Patient
Participate in Group Team Building Events
Participate in Awareness Walks (Alzheimer's, etc)
Monthly events at Senior facilities providing crafts, bingo, trivia games, etc
Administrative duties also available if direct patient interaction is not your thing

Description
The SouthernCare philosophy of "Whatever It Takes" provides the foundation for exceptional palliative care from our team of highly qualified healthcare professionals and trained volunteers. Our team focuses on the whole person, emphasizing physical, spiritual and emotional support while assisting our patients and families to live life to the fullest for as long as they can. It is goal that every qualified patient has the opportunity to choose palliative that hospice provides.
