Help Central Illinois Foodbank address community hunger by promoting and supporting the Foodbank with the following special events such as The Hunger Study, Agency Conference, Harvest Celebration, Corporate Food Fight Challenge, volunteer fairs, speakers bureau, food drives, etc.

Opportunity hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, and as needed at the special event

Mission Statement

Central Illinois Foodbank's mission is to provide food, and develop awareness of and creative solutions for food insecurity.


Central Illinois Foodbank, established in 1982 by a coalition of churches, distributes over 8.5 million pounds of food annually to over 150 food pantries, soup kitchens, residential programs and after-school programs in a 21 county region. Central Illinois Foodbank is a member of Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization, and is a United Way certified agency.

Central Illinois Foodbank currently operates a 56,000 square foot distribution facility located in Springfield, Illinois. Central Illinois Foodbank is also proud to operate the Kids Cafe program with Springfield Urban League. Kids Cafe is a nation-wide program through Feeding America that feeds children a hot, nutritious meal in a safe environment.
