Communities in Schools of the Nation’s Capital is the DC affiliate of the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization. We partner with seven DC Public Schools across three wards to support over 3,100 students’ with attendance, basic needs and coursework completion. School-based CIS of the Nation’s Capital staff provides targeted social service interventions, and also facilitates relationships between the school and community partners. This holistic, evidence-based model is designed to empower students to stay in school and achieve in life.

Kelly Miller will be holding an enrollment field day. The field day will include fun, food and games. Volunteers will help with things such as set-up of the event, serving food, monitoring stations and directing students in the right direction.

No previous experience with children is required, so come join the fun and get a taste of the work we are doing in the NE part of the city!
