Would you like to give back to your community using the social media forums you already know and love? If you are an advanced user of Snap Chat, Instagram, & Twitter, and you reside within the Metro DC, area, then Extra-Ordinary Birthdays has a volunteer opportunity that may be just right for you! Extra-Ordinary Birthdays is a nonprofit organization in College Park, that provides personalized birthday celebrations for homeless children living in shelters with their families throughout the DMV area. We currently have two openings for a Live Event Social Media Volunteer. The ideal candidate will be onsite to capture special moments at EOB events, posting live to Snap Chat, Instagram, and Twitter as well as providing occasional content for monthly communications. Must be adept at interacting positively with the homeless population we serve--including professionalism, discretion, care and respect. Experience and/or education in public relations & working with homeless individuals are a plus. Must pass criminal background check, be 18 years of age or older. Description
A child's birthday party is often and understandably the last on the list of priorities, and more often, completely unattainable for homeless families trying to find a way to get on track. Extra-Ordinary Birthdays strives to give that special day back to families living in shelters who otherwise would not have the means to celebrate their child's birthday. Through the celebration of each child’s birthday, we become part of a wonderful opportunity to create a moment that will become a positive part of their lifetime of memories.
