One-on-one tutor

Can you imagine life without literacy? How would you...

  • Get a job, or train for a better job?
  • Talk with doctors, neighbors, and businesses?
  • Discuss your child's progress at school?
  • Perform simple tasks such as phone calls, emails, shopping, banking, getting insurance?
You can make a difference by volunteering 2 hours per week to help adults learn to read, write, or speak English. The Community Literacy Council provides 12 hours of comprehensive tutor training for volunteers, usually in January, May, and October. Most of our adult students are learning English as a second language.
Our next training sessions
will be:
  • November 17, 2018, 8:30 am - 5 pm or
  • February 2, 2019, 8:30 am - 5 pm

You can find more information about volunteering:
