Give the gift of presence. Heritage Hospice is actively recruiting patient and family volunteers to make friendly visits in the greater Indiana and Cambria areas. Visits are low key and casual and can include listening, talking, sitting with patients and occasionally light housekeeping.
We customize the experience for you including locations (home or care facilities), length (30 mins to a few hours) & frequency of visits (1-2 times a month to weekly). Mileage reimbursement is paid for travel to and from visits. (Volunteers do not provide personal care.)
We provide all the training you need at no cost to you. Various convenient options are available for orientation. Volunteer hours which can be as little as a few a month.

Description
Heritage Hospice is a family-founded hospice that takes pride in providing our patients with comfort, dignity and peace either in the comfort of their own home or in a skilled facility of their choice.
Hospice care treats the whole person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs in the last phase of life. These services may be provided at home, in an inpatient facility, nursing home or in another setting that best suits the needs of the patient and caregivers. Hospice care helps the person to live at home or in the most comfortable setting as long as possible, stay as active as possible, express and accept feelings, assists the family to care for their loved one, manage practical tasks, deal with stress, provide support and feel at peace.
