ORGANIZATION: L.A. Works

Foundation for Second Chances is a community based organization which utilizes hands-on education, mentoring, health awareness and community service to maximize the potential of youth. We strive to create an empowering environment of love, compassion, and safety for youth and families in South Los Angeles. Our holistic approach recognizes the importance of each individual component necessary to create physically and emotionally healthy children and families who are engaged and proactive in their communities.

Program Description: We are looking for a creative, innovative, and detailed oriented individual to assist with volunteer engagement. Ideal candidates are passionate about youth empowerment! Intern will create awareness and support for Foundation for Second Chances as well help us maintain current volunteers engaged by creating content for various media outlets (newsletters, media, social media, etc.).

Volunteer Role & Responsibilities: Create engaging and avant-garde content for our newsletter. Manage our volunteer’s bimonthly e-journals Assist with current social media efforts and help to develop marketing strategies.

Requirements: Relevant experience in marketing, journalism, communication, public relations or social media. Excellent communication skills. Ability to self-manage. Punctuality and time management skills.
