Escorting Residents to Doctor's Appointments

There is a need for volunteers to escort Residents to and from doctor's appointments.

Volunteers must remain with the Resident in the waiting room of the Doctor's office.

Volunteers will contact our medical driver to pick up the Resident and yourself from the Doctor's office to return to St. Mary's Home.

Volunteer will return with any paper work from the Resident's doctor appointment to be given to the Medical Records Coordinator or the nurse on duty at the time of return from appointment.

Most appointments will be 1-2 hours. If an appointment is longer than 2 hours, the volunteer coordinator will inform the volunteer.

Orientation will be provided.

This is a great opportunity for volunteers to establish a great relationship with our Residents.

This is also great for volunteers who have flexible schedules to help our Residents.

Volunteer application must be completed.

A meeting and orientation with the volunteer coordinator will be scheduled after application has been submitted.

A criminal background check must also be completed at no cost to the volunteer.
