If you can drum or keep a beat and have a gift for picking up songs to sing we are looking for you. We need to add some new singers to our American Indian drum. You would learn from the oldest American Indian singer and drummer in Chicago, who an award winning dancer as well. If you know anything about American Indian Pow Wows, you know they are exciting events where the drummers and singers take center stage. Practices would be for just a few hours every other week and less after you learn the songs. Consider joining us and bringing a friends. You need not be Native American to learn.

Description
The American Indian Association of Illinois is the primary educational institution for American Indians in the state of Illinois. It offers a four year college degree in cooperation with Eastern Illinois University as well as programs to explore and preserve Native American languages and cultures. Other educational programs involve Native American children and youth and mentoring opportunities for older adults. It also houses the Native American Artist's Registry, the Black Hawk Dance Troupe, the American Indian Women's Alliance, the American Indian Economic Development Institute and the American Indian Library and Archives.
