Children Across America: Empowering Communities
Children Across America, a humanitarian organization, provides preventive healthcare and literacy support to under-served children in the United States. Its vision is to empower families and children in low-income communities. Its unique programs are focused on improving children’s health and drive educational excellence. The organization partners with local healthcare advocates, hospitals, libraries and school systems to ensure children get the full benefit of its programs. Our Summer Reading club program provides 2 hours of reading and literacy programs and half an hour games for elementary school aged children for FREE during summer school break.
Our objective is to keep the learning process going during the summer in a fun way! Also, more than 1/3 of the children in our community are on the free lunch program, so we provide them a healthy meal AND teach them the value in eating healthy.
Key responsibilities would include listening and interacting with children reading and to make sure every child is in a safe environment. CORI checks are required for all staff members and volunteers.
The hours of the program are 9:30-11:30 Monday through Thursday with an extra half hour before to setup and another half hour to clean up. The dates are 6 weeks from July 10th. Even if you cant commit to the entire program, anytime you can give will be greatly appreciated. Unpaid High School and college internships are available as well as getting your community service hours.

Children Across America provides literacy support and preventative healthcare to underserved children in the United States. Its vision is to empower families and children in low income communities. Its unique programs are focused on improving children’s educational excellence and health. The organization partners with local libraries, school systems healthcare advocates and hospitals to ensure children get the full benefit of its programs. We provide a free alternative program to underserved families with students in grades K-5, who can't afford a private tutor, or professional tutoring services such as Kaplan or Kumon.
Description
CAA has a combination of medical and educational programming.
Our main educational program is a STEM and Coding program for all children. We also focus on children K-5 grade that come from families that English is not their first language. Our Summer Reading and Math Club (Children's Book Club) and our Saturday Reading and Math club's goal is to raise the level of literacy in America's children. Our Math Clubs are to help develop children's basic math skills. We help all children but our main focus is the underserved population of America. Our signature program is our Summer STREAM and Girls Love to Code Club, that runs from July through August and our Saturday STREAM and Girls Love to Code Club that runs each Saturday.
Our main medical program and focus of our medical programming is Health Promotion in motion. This is a immunization and preventative healthcare initiative focused on making sure every child in America is immunized per CDC guidelines and has healthcare coverage. We are a vendor for the State for Mass healthcare signps.
