You bring the attention to detail and we'll supply the cleaning supplies. We just moved into our new location and are of need of some serious TLC. It takes a village we hope we can gather enough volunteers to help us get this place ready to undergo licensure so we can become a licensed daycare again to our kiddos!

Applicants must be able to comfortably work while standing, be able to bend over frequently and lift at least 25 lbs. Please contact us with any questions. This opportunity is good for small groups of volunteers!

Mission Statement

We provide affordable, developmentally appropriate care to children with special needs and support for their families. Emmy’s Academy is an early intervention and educational childcare center in the North Atlanta Metro.

Description

Emmy's Academy's mission is to provide affordable, developmentally appropriate care for children with special needs and support for their families. We serve children with special needs from birth through 6 years of age in the Atlanta area. The inspiration for Emmy's Academy is Emily "Emmy" Corrigan who was born in April 2009 with Down syndrome. Emmy became sick in 2009 with Parvovirus (Fifth Disease) but after a courageous fight, Emmy ultimately lost her battle and passed away on December 11, 2009 at the age of two. After Emmy's passing, her mother Mrs. Amy Corrigan found there is a tremendous need in the Atlanta community for affordable, early intervention childcare for children with special needs. Early intervention childcare is extremely challenging to find in the Atlanta metro and if a family can find this level of care for their child, the costs can be astronomical as in thousands of dollars per week. In an attempt to honor Emmy’s life, Emmy's Academy was incorporated in May 2010 to fill that void. Under Amy Corrigan’s leadership, our community efforts are led by a committed board of directors and advisory board, and a dedicated group of community volunteers.
