In an effort to promote play, healthy families and social responsibility, we are collaborating with the city of Anaheim, Disney VoluntEARS, local community residents and KaBOOM! to help build and redesign a safe and exiting playground at Jualianna Park for families in the surrounding areas.
For this event, we are looking for volunteers to help with either of the following dates:- Prep Day volunteers(Wednesday, September 25, 2019) - These volunteers will help unload equipment, inventory materials, cut wood, prep the playground site, sort hardware, and more!
- Build Day Volunteers(Friday, September 27, 2019)- These volunteers will help construct the playground pieces and work on various side projects. This may include putting together a spiral slide, moving mulch, gardening, building benches, painting and more!
- Team Leaders- (volunteers ages 18 and over)- These individuals will lead the project teams. No experience is necessary!!! We're looking for people who are good at engaging volunteers, safety focused, and have lots of energy. Team leaders need to be available for a 1 hour training before Build Day and will need to be on site at 6:30am on Build Day (9/27).
- Lead activities with children on build day- (volunteers ages 13 and over)- Seeking 15-20 high energy individuals to assist children with arts and crafts, active play games and more on build day. Materials and guidance will be provided beforehand.
We do not require everyone to be there the entire day; morning/afternoon shifts are available.
All skill and ability levels welcome.
- Adults ages 18+ may work on any team and handle power tools
- Youth ages 16-17 may volunteer on site, but cannot enter the playground footprint or operate power tools.
- Youth under the age of 16 must remain in the youth activities area under proper supervision.
