**This program is for educational sessions in Wisconsin**

The GrapeVine Project (www.wwhf.org/grapevineproject) is a health education and outreach program of the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation (WWHF). WWHF provides Wisconsin nurses with in-depth training and packaged "units" on women’s health topics. Nurses then conduct free one-hour education sessions in their communities at locations including libraries, churches, schools, senior centers, and many more. GrapeVine reaches about 1500 women annually and 90 nurses currently partner with us in the program.

Units available for our nurses to teach are: Advance Care Directives - Bone Health - Breast Cancer - Breastfeeding - Diabetes Prevention - Gynecological Cancers - Healthy Aging Brain/Dementia - Healthy Relationships - Heart Health - Mental Health: Anxiety & Depression - Oral Health

Description

The program we are looking for volunteers for is First Breath, it is a smoking cessation program for pregnant women throughout the state of Wisconsin. Our target population is low-income mothers who would like couseling and support in their atttempts to quit smoking. One aspect of the program is that we provide incentive gifts to all the women who enroll , these gifts include items for themselves and their newborn. We currently have 96 First Breath sites throughout WI, our sites are different clinics and hospitals that have formally trained a nurse, WIC staff, or health educator in First Breath counseling.
