Resources to Empower has partnered with an alternative K-12 school in Miami to help high school students obtain their General Educational Development (GED) high school equivalency diploma. The volunteer GED Course Facilitator will be stationed at RTE's partner high school and will monitor student's progress in reading, science, math, social studies, and writing. Students use a computer software to prepare for the GED test; therefore, the GED Course Facilitator will not teach classes. However, the GED Course Facilitator must be able to assist the students in reading, science, math, social studies, and writing as needed.
The GED Course Facilitator must be available to volunteer for 2 hours per week from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. This volunteer commitment is for six months.
The GED Course Facilitator must complete a volunteer orientation and training on the GED preparation computer software.
