The ChickTech Boston chapter is looking to launch their HS Program this year! The HS Program aims to reach 50+ girls in the Boston area empowering them to explore careers in technology.
Are you passionate about empowering girls in technology? Are you a motivator of people and a get things done kind of person?
This volunteer opportunity could be for you if you have:
- A passion for empowering girls
- A love of technolgoy
- 2+ years experience planning events
- 3+ years leading a team of people
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills that establish and maintain credibility and relationships
- Excellent problem solving skills, ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- A strategic, tactical thinker
- The ability to work in a collaborative style and move others to action by planning, motivating and organizing work tasks
The HS Program Lead is expected to:
- Find and foster strategic partnerships and relationships with organizations, schools, and businesses to launch the HS Program
- Project manage the annual HS Program Kickoff and monthly HS workshops with the help of a HS Program Committee
- Commit to recruiting (3) HS Program Committee members
- Be an external voice for ChickTech
- Carry the vision for the chapter and inspire others to become a part of the ChickTech movement
- Collaborate with co-lead to determine overall budget and annual planning (with help from HQ as desired)

ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women and non-binary people in the technology workforce and increasing the number of people of marginalized genders pursuing technology-based careers.
Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
