One of the most fundamental tasks of the market, we are always looking for more hands to help in our daily set-up and break down of the market. This is an opportunity that requires some physical labor as you will be moving and lifting market supplies such as signage, tables, chairs, information booth supplies, etc. Training will be held onsite at the market. This volunteer can also volunteer as a Power of Produce Club Booth volunteer.
Choose either to help with set up or taking down the market:
Set-up: Saturday: 6am-7:30am (May-Sept) 7am-8:30am (Oct)
AND/OR
Take down: Saturdays 12pm-1pm
Skills Needed: Ability to lift 25 lbs, able to walk, bend, lift and carry supplies.
Commitment: 1 hours every Saturday or choose how often you would like to volunteer this season. (general set up and take down takes about half an hour to 1 hour max)

Since 1990, Richfield Recreation Services has coordinated the Richfield Farmers Market in Veterans Memorial Park to provide access to local, healthy, and affordable foods. We offer this transformative gathering space where long-term sustaining connections between MN farmers & producers, community members, and neighbor to neighbor relationships are strengthened. The Market emphasizes educational and recreational activities to promote active living and community enrichment.
Description
The Richfield Farmers Market has a long tradition of offering locally grown produce and products to the Richfield community. The market is held at one of the best locations in the twin cities, in Veterans Memorial Park (64th Street & Portland Ave S), under the wooden picnic pavilion and in the adjacent park space.
A diverse group of 60+ different local farmers, food producers, and artisans come to sell at the market, many of who have been selling with us for 10-20+years. Live music, yoga classes, food access programs, educational community booths, special event days and more give the farmers market a fun atmosphere, while retaining it's essential mission as a marketplace and community gathering space.
Besides the market, the park offers plenty of other fun activities like walking trails through a wooded area and wetland, a mini golf course, Malt-T-Melt's café, and adaptive playground. The farmers market site is accessible, with paved trails, curb cuts, and accessible onsite restrooms available at the market for customers.
Offices for the Richfield Farmers Market are located at the Richfield Community Center at 7000 Nicollet Ave S. The Farmers Market is held at Veterans Memorial Park at 64th Street and Portland Ave S.
