Here at Great River Family Promise, we are looking for people who are interested in volunteering at our day center in the mornings from 7am-9am M-F and 3pm-5pm M-F. We are flexible on the days, shifts, and we are also looking for on-call volunteers.
Our day center volunteers can/could assist our guests with a number of responsibilites including; reading to the children and playing games or getting them for the bus, clerical/administrative assistance such as sending emails and helping with resume writing, welcoming new guests and assisting with bags and belongings, assisting our families get packed up and out of the center for the evening, close the day center.
We are always looking for people with special skills/talents in the areas of: resume writing, mechanics to work on guests cars, driving our guests to appointments/interviews, and those willing to foster pets for our families temporarily.

Description
Great River Family Promise is an affiliate of Family Promise. A network includes thirteen houses of worship and engages between 800 - 1000 community volunteers each year. Host congregations provide overnight shelter, meals, and hospitality for up to four families for one week every four months on a rotating basis. Families have access to a Day Center which houses administrative offices and provides a place to do laundry, take showers, store a few personal items and receive mail. Transportation between the Day Center and congregation facilities is provided though the network.
Family Promise builds networks using existing resources as much as possible to maximize local community support and funding. The basic elements of Great River Family Promise are:
