Some volunteers choose to be historic interpreters & wear period appropriate clothing!

Woodville Plantation in Bridgeville is officially open for the season!
Located about 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, this historic house was built in 1785 and has so much history to share! We would love for you to come be a part of our history.

We are looking for volunteers to help at WOODVILLE PLANTATION
There are many ways you can help out, here are some positions:

MUSEUM AIDES: Man the table in the Gift Shop to collect admissions and/or gift shop sales.
TIME: 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon -- one day a month or every other month, or be on call.
TRAINING: Minimal -- need to learn how to record sales/admissions and payments.

DOCENTS: Conduct guided tours of the house
TIME: 3 hours on a Sunday Afternoon
TRAINING: Need to learn scripted information. Will shadow before leading solo tours.

GARDENERS: Help prepare and maintain "Colonial" garden
TIME: Spring: Clean-up Day, Planning Day, Planting Day
Summer: weekly maintenance
Fall: Harvest & Garden Clean-up
TRAINING: Helpers will work with Lead Gardener

There are many other opportunities, such as helping on special program days with food preparation, helping with American Heritage Chocolate Demonstration, etc.
