Front Office and Marketing Assistant
Volunteer Position
3 days per week / 24 Volunteer Hours / Tuesdays-Wednesdays-Thursdays / 8AM - 5PM (one hour lunch)

The Front Office and Marketing Assistant reports to the Business Office Manager. He/she is responsible to provide supportive services including: answering incoming calls, facilitating calls to the appropriate victim advocacy teams / departments, and assistance with marketing tasks that impact community awareness and that help elevate the overall branding of the organization.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Answering incoming calls
  • Facilitating calls to the appropriate internal contact for optimal customer service
  • Assist with digital marketing tasks to enhance the exposure of the organization
  • Editorial calendar planning assistance
  • Content preparation; written and visual creative
  • Blog, CRM tool and social media content creative
  • Assistance with social media strategy and posting
  • Weekly updates to website and all marketing channels
  • Analyze marketing data
  • Mission and Vision focus and alignment with monthly and annual marketing goals
  • Progressive creative input and motivated creative ideas
  • Knowledge of coding, animation and video would be great but is not a requirement to apply
  • Knowledge of buffer, twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MailChimp and similar tools is necessary
  • Good communication with all team members to understand and support victim needs, while continually supporting all BOH initiatives
  • Assist with office and/or marketing related requests to support the mission and vision, domestic violence victim advocacy, and overall BOH services and programs

General responsibilities:

Any volunteer staff member of Beacon of Hope Center for Women, Inc. will be responsible to support other staff and volunteers as needed, including cleanliness and care of the Center’s offices and supporting other areas whenever possible.


Qualified candidate will be a high school graduate and have a minimum of two years of experience in a not-for-profit organization working in a comparable capacity and be able to provide professional references to verify this experience. Business administrative or marketing degree or related field preferred. Will consider extensive experience in lieu. Valid Indiana driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Qualified candidates must be familiar with the dynamics of domestic violence, experienced with customer service and have marketing expertise. Applicant must have excellent written, verbal and computer skills; must be a self-starter; able to reach and work with a wide diverse population; be able to respect confidentiality of the work that is performed at Beacon of Hope; have good record-keeping skills; and able to multi-task to handle multiple various projects. Able to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality and successful clearance of a criminal background check within three months. All crisis center volunteers must have an understanding of: the criminal justice system, victimology, crisis intervention, cultural/ethnic diversity, and applicable state victims’ rights/laws.
