It is because of our community's donations of in-kind supplies and materials that we are able to provide hope and dignity to the men, women and children that visit our campus.

We are seeking weekly volunteer support to greet and intake donations as they arrive in front of our warehouse on our campus.

1. Volunteers must have a positive demeanor and professionally represent our organization.
2. Volunteers must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and stand and/or walk throughout their shift.
3. Time commitment: volunteer at least 1 shift each week.

Volunteer Shifts are Monday - Friday
Between the hours of 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM

Minimum Time Commitment of 3 hours.

Volunteer tasks Include:

  • Provide donors with a positive giving experience by greeting and thanking all donors for their donations
  • Assist staff with transporting donations from donors’ vehicle(s) to the warehouse.
  • Sorting and preparing donations for other departments
  • Retrieving and delivering donations to the departments across campus

Donations are property of St. Mary’s Dining Room and may not be consumed and/or removed from campus without permission from St. Mary’s Dining Room’s CEO.

Mission Statement

St. Mary's Dining Room responds to poverty in San Joaquin County be feeding the hungry, caring for health issues and restoring human dignity to over 700 individuals each day.

Description

St. Mary’s Dining Room provides the following free caring services to the community. Our ability to provide this care is made possible through the generosity of our community. It is because of their financial support, volunteerism and their donation of in-kind supplies that we can provide hope to all that visit our campus each day. We are grateful to be voted 2020 Best of San Joaquin Non-Profit. (We are located a block from the Stockton DMV)

Our DINING ROOM is open 7 days a week. Each morning we serve a hot breakfast, followed by a hot lunch and dinner.

Our CLOTHING & HYGIENE CENTER is open 6 days a week. We provide access to hot showers, hygiene products, haircuts and seasonal clothing to our guests.

Our MEDICAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured through the help of volunteer professionals. Eye exams are also performed and prescription glasses are provided.

Our DENTAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured. Dentists provide needed dental care and education to our guests. Dentures are also provided.

Our SOCIAL SERVICES center allows staff and volunteers to provide case management for guests by assisting with completing applications for various benefit programs. Guests are provided with advocacy and referrals for securing emergency shelter, transitional housing, and employment.

Our SENIOR CENTER allows us to support our senior guests (55+) to come to relax, read the newspaper, make friends, participate in activities with our volunteers and other seniors.
