Do you know there are several ways to help and be involved at a museum? One of the most important, and most often forgotten, is helping out with the everyday cleaning! While this is not the most glamours job, it is essential to preserving and protecting exhibition spaces and the collection!
MCHS is need of individuals who can come out for an hour or two and help us protect our County's history. This job will include sweeping, moping, and dusting of exhibit spaces and collection storage areas. All supplies and equipment will be provided (there might even be a treat with your name on it!)
We do ask that volunteers come in while staff is present (Monday-Friday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm)

Description
Established in 1963, our members, staff, and volunteers have a 60-year-plus record rich in preservation, education, and entertainment contributions to McHenry County.
We create learning experiences and events. We focus on local culture, organization, and family history. We collect and care for notable artifacts. We participate in the activities of like-minded organizations throughout McHenry County.
Besides operating the museum, the Society plaques historic sites and structures, holds adult programs and arranges various school and adult group tours.
