The McHenry County Historical Society and Museum is in need of a Special Events Coordinator(s) to help plan parties and other events for members and volunteers throughout the year. So, if you enjoy planning and attending great parties, then this is the job for you!
The hours for this position will vary depending on when events are scheduled and most of the work can be done from the comfort of your own home. For example, one of the main events we need help with is planning our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. This volunteer would be responsible for helping the Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator with researching potential venues, menu and game planning, sending invitations, and decor construction. This individual would also be expected to attend the event to help with set up/take down and to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Established in 1963, our members, staff, and volunteers have a 60-year-plus record rich in preservation, education, and entertainment contributions to McHenry County.
We create learning experiences and events. We focus on local culture, organization, and family history. We collect and care for notable artifacts. We participate in the activities of like-minded organizations throughout McHenry County.
Besides operating the museum, the Society plaques historic sites and structures, holds adult programs and arranges various school and adult group tours.
