Calvary Women’s Services offers housing, health, employment and education programs that empower homeless women in Washington, DC to change their lives. Founded in 1983, our programs carry out our mission to offer "a safe, caring place for tonight; support, hope and change for tomorrow." Saturday breakfast volunteers start out the resident's weekends on a high note with a hot meal and a warm smile.
Breakfast volunteers prepare a nutritious meal at home, bring it to the program, and serve it to the 30-35 residents on site. Volunteers need to arrive at 6:30 am to serve the meal from 7-8 am. Volunteers can use the microwave on site, but can not use the stove or oven.
This is the perfect volunteer opportunity for families and groups of up to 12 who wish to get to know Calvary and our residents while serving in a very tangible way.
