ABOUT US
Having access to books in the home is a stronger predictor of later academic achievement than socio-economic status. Yet, studies have shown 61% of low-income families don’t have any age appropriate books in their homes.
Our goal is to change that.
Reading Recycled, takes new and gently used book donations and distributes them to these children.
Join us to help expand the message and the number of children whose lives can be changed.

Mission Statement
Reading Recycled is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a simple goal: to put books into the homes of all children.
Description
Did you know that having access to books in the home is a stronger predictor of later academic achievement than socio-economic status? Yet, studies have shown 61% of low-income families don’t have any age appropriate books in their homes.
There are many, many children who have the potential for academic and professional achievement, but are stifled by a lack of the basic resources conducive to early learning.
Our goal is to change that.
Reading is one of the most valuable skills a person can have, but studies show that children who grow up in homes without books never make reading part of their life. Reading Recycled is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a simple goal: to put books into the homes of all children. This mission is the brainchild of our founder, Anne, a certified teacher with a Master’s degree in Education. Anne was shocked after watching a documentary about young children with no books to read. As a teacher, she knew how devastating this was, and resolved to make a difference.
WHAT WE DO At Reading Recycled, we collect new and gently used book donations and sort, clean, package and distribute them to children who desperately need them. These books are delivered to families, churches, shelters, schools, and any other place a child might want to read (like the laundromat, etc), where there are no books.
