Reporting to the Development Director, the Development Coordinator Committee Member will oversee and implement strategic, sustainable, long-range fundraising plans. This role will work closely with different EKARI Foundation committees, Executive Director, Board President and community partners to identify and achieve overall goals for fundraising events and efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to effectively increase donor acquisition and retention

• Solicit, cultivate and maintain positive relations with event sponsors and donors

• Collaborate with companies and individuals to assist them in reaching their fundraising goal

• Maintain records for reporting all funding activities using Insightly donor management software

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

• Strong computer skills

• Well organized, detail-oriented and resourceful

• Previous fundraising & donor outreach

• Event coordination experience

• Ability to ask for donations

• Enjoys engaging a diverse community

• Skilled at planning and organizing

• Committed to EKARI’s mission

Time Commitment

This position requires a commitment of 3 - 5 hours per week for a minimum of one year. We offer a lot of flexibility in when and how you complete those hours and many of the tasks and responsibilities can be done remotely, working online, at a time that is convenient for you. Every committee member is invited to attend a monthly board of directors meeting.

Compensation

This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run, excluding staff in Malawi and our Executive Director.
