Do you have experience working with ethnic and culturally diverse populations and supporting people in reaching their life goals? If so, HealthRIGHT 360 Resource Center is actively recruiting volunteers to support various programs in housing, employment, and GED client services. At the Resource Center, we provide compassionate support and tools for formerly incarcerated individuals who are transitioning back into their communities and creating a stable living environment by building skills, accessing resources, and modeling professional behavior. Positions include:
GED Classroom Volunteer
Practice Interview Volunteer
Employment and Housing Support Volunteer
There is flexibility to combine opportunities based on your interest.
DESIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES:
Previous experience working with people who may be homeless, recovering from drug addiction, formerly incarcerated, or from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
Able to role model professional behavior and maintain professional boundaries.
Interest in working with diverse, disadvantaged populations including low literacy, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and impaired cognitive functioning.
Able to maintain client confidentiality.
Volunteers must commit to at least 3 hours per week for 3 to 4 months. The Resource Center is open to clients from 9 am to 4 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, closed on Tuesdays, and 9am to 12pm on Friday.
Please note that all volunteers must have a TB test before beginning their volunteer service.
