Serene, breathtaking, and captivating, volunteers in Nepal are immersed in a vibrant culture. Most famous for Mt. Everest, but brimming with hundreds of other remarkable sites, Nepal will capture your heart and soul with its generous people and customs. Nepalis are known for cooking hearty, flavorful meals and for greeting others with the traditional Namaste. In Nepal, volunteers are sought as caregivers at orphanages, teaching assistants at schools, and counselors.

United Planet is the US and Canadian member of the International Cultural Youth Exchange, or ICYE. As a volunteer in Nepal, you will be hosted by NVCYE, ICYE's Nepali partner organization. NVCYE, or Nepal Volunteer Cultural Youth Exchange, was established in 2004 to empower local communities to implement and organize community development, education and conservation projects.

Possible volunteer projects include:

- Working directly with children in orphanages, focusing on education and English classes
- Assisting doctors and nurses with record keeping, medicine distribution, helping treat minor injuries, and various other tasks
- Volunteering in a village-based tree nursery, including pruning, weeding, mulching, trimming and more
- Researching the local tourism industry and completing a report for an organization

Please visit our website for more information about the projects.
