Position: Board Member - Board of Directors
Organization: Sun Valley Youth Center
Overview:
Sun Valley Youth Center seeks a volunteer President and Board Members who are:
Committed to education and early childhood development in one of Denver’s most under-served communities
Mission driven and will be committed to supporting and nurturing the faith aspects of our organization
Excited to support the evolution of a long standing and socially critical organization in a rapidly developing neighborhood
The President and Board Members provide strategic and operational guidance to the organization. The City and County of Denver has embarked on an extensive community redevelopment project in Sun Valley. Sun Valley Youth Center is well positioned to expand its services as a result of the redevelopment. The Board of Directors will provide direction during this critical time and work with the organization to expand its offerings so that more youth can be served.
Board members are expected to attend in-person meetings held every month on a weekday evening (2-3 hours). Board members will often devote an additional 2-3 hours/month to Board business. Sun Valley Youth Center has a weekend strategic planning meeting once a year. Board members serve for two years and will donate or raise $2500 (min.)/year.
