About REACH OUT COMMUNITY CENTER NFP

Location:

1550 S BLUE ISLAND AVE NO 1203, CHICAGO, IL 60608, US

Mission Statement

Reach Out Community Center works with youth from the ages of 6-17. Reach Out strives to help community youth reach their fullest potential through a variety of educational and recreational programs that will help them accomplish their educational and personal goals. While respecting the uniqueness of each individual child, we seek to provide a safe and enriching environment in which the youth can freely express themselves, accept themselves, and learn the tools necessary to acquire new life skills.

Description

Reach Out will be an integral part of the South Lawndale and Little Village communities, located on the border of these two neighborhoods on the west side of Chicago. Both neighborhoods are vibrant and their culture diverse. Little Village is now predominantly a Hispanic community and South Lawndale is predominantly an African-American community. In order to help the children of the Reach Out Community Center reach their highest potential, our programs will be geared towards providing opportunities to develop new skills and experiences. Reach Out will bring programs to the youth that they may not otherwise have access to, allowing them to learn a skill 180 degrees--in other words, learn all aspects of that particular life skill.
