ORGANIZATION: Be A Mentor, Inc.

Be A Mentor, Inc. is a non-profit agency that recruits mentors and matches them with at-risk and disadvantaged youth. We know that mentors who serve as positive adult role models have helped youth stay out of gangs and away from drugs. We know that many of the youth have completed high school and have gone on to additional education because of the support and guidance of their mentors.

We need volunteer assistance for grant writing. The volunteer will research grant opportunities among government agencies, private foundations, and private sector corporations. He or she will work with the Executive Director to develop funding campaigns in each of the three areas. Time commitment is two to three days per week (flexible hours).
