June 16, 17, and 18, 2017

Volunteer and celebrate Hagley’s traditional fireworks! Enjoy free admission and the wonder and awe of crackling fire in the sky. There are many volunteer opportunities, including mailing preparation, check in, Kids Central (kids arts and crafts and other activities), Hagley Store booth sales and set up, raffle coordinator, raffle booth, and clean up after the event. Are you a shutterbug? You can capture all the action with your photographer and videographer skills. Your volunteer talent is needed. You make it all possible behind the scenes and your role is very important to Hagley. Don’t miss the thrills and excitement of being a part of this amazing explosive event.

Hagley Museum and Library offers Delaware’s best fireworks! This members-only event is held on two Fridays each June and offers spectacular choreographed aerial and ground displays.

Volunteers are needed in all areas for the event. Please contact Angela or go to your volunteer page to see available opportunities and shifts.

For first time volunteers, please fill out the online application here or call (302) 658-2400, ext 257. After we receive your application, we will contact you and arrange to meet to discuss your interests in volunteering at Hagley.

About Hagley Museum and Library

Location:

PO Box 3630, Wilmington, DE 19807, US

Mission Statement

Hagley Museum and Library collects, preserves, and interprets the unfolding history of American enterprise. Hagley is located on 235 acres by the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware.

Description

Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E. I. du Pont in 1802. This example of early American industry includes restored mills, a workers' community, and the ancestral home and gardens of the du Pont family.

Hagley's library furthers the study of business and technology in America, especially the Middle Atlantic region. The collections include individuals' papers and companies' records ranging from eighteenth-century merchants to modern telecommunications and illustrate the impact of the business system on society.

The Center for the History of Business, Technology, and Society organizes and administers the Hagley Museum and Library's interaction with the world of scholarship. It brings attention to Hagley's research collections and generates intellectual dialogue at Hagley.
