PAWSibilities Thrift Shop is a business of the Humane Society of York County (HSYC). One of the HSYC's more relied upon Fund Raiser. Our Thrift Shop supports 60% of the funding to do what we do for the community abandoned pets.
Our PAWSibilities Thrift Shop is 100% volunteer run and we need:
- volunteers to process donations (including clothing, housewares, small furniture, books, etc...).
- volunteers to put items on the floor during open hours.
- volunteers willing to straighten and clean to keep our shop shining.
- volunteers willing to welcome the public with exceptional customer service skills.
- volunteers to bag items at checkout
- volunteers who love working with a team of dedicated people in the heat, rain, cold to accomplish our goals!
Come join the FAMILY of animal lovers and SAVE LIVES! If this is something you would like to do, please stop in and talk to one of our shop leads about volunteering. ALL funds go to help the abandoned pets at the HSYC.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to prevent animal suffering; to help reduce overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering, to educate the public about animal welfare and to place adoptable pets in loving homes. We advocate for animal welfare legislation and support the prosecution of animal abusers.
Description
The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) is an independent local non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. We are located in Fort Mill, South Carolina and serve the greater Charlotte region including York, Lancaster and Mecklenburg counties.
We successfully placed 924 pets in loving homes last year preventing them from being euthanized. In an effort to stop future overpopulation, we now require that all adopted pets be spayed or neutered before leaving our rescue.
Because we are an independent no kill facility, we make our own funds via grants, adoptions, fund raising activities and donations from our generous supporters. Often people think since we are named the Humane Society we receive funds from other Humane Society non profits and we do NOT. So please give locally and volunteer. We work diligently to be good stewards of our funds so that more lives can be saved.
Please Opt to Adopt and share our information with everyone you know.
