As a classroom tutor you interact with ESL students individually and/or in small groups. The class could be English Language Learning, Reading, Writing, or Conversation Practice, depending on your interests and schedule.
The time commitnent is once a week, M-Th, 1-3 hours, depending on the class. There are scheduling choices in the morning and evening.
It is not necessary to speak another language.
Volunteers say they enjoy the fun and interest of getting to know students, and being part of their learning.

Help adults acquire the skills, and provide the support, to pursue education and employment goals.
Description
Minneapolis Adult Education provides free classes in ESL, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills, and transition to work and college. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We are part of Minneapolis Community Education, Minneapolis Public Schools.
Volunteers participate once an week, for an hour or more depending on the class. We ask for a commitment of 3 months. Service learning has a different minimum.
