Title: Writer
Purpose of Position: To educate people about the wildlife and plants of southeastern Massachusetts, how to enjoy them without negatively impacting them and how to work toward their conservation. To publicize our work and events and to report on them.
Abilities/Qualities: Excellent writing skills, understanding of science and nature, meets deadlines, basic computer skills (email, word processing)
Responsibilities/Tasks: Write 2-4 blog posts or press releases per month. Other writing tasks as needed/desired.
Schedule and Other Information: 8-16 hours per month. May work from Goldenrod field station or from home. For examples of past blog posts, please visit: www.goldenrod.org/blog

Mission Statement
The mission of the Goldenrod Foundation is to conserve and protect the coastal environment in southeastern Massachusetts for wildlife and people.
Description
The Goldenrod Foundation is located in Plymouth, Massachusetts and operates a field station on Plymouth Long Beach. We conduct education and outreach and coordinate projects in citizen science and stewardship. We believe that beach-nesting birds and people can share the beach successfully, as they do on Long Beach.
Our centerpiece program is the Beach Ambassadors volunteer program. We train a cohort of local residents each spring to conduct nature outreach and education on the beach in the summer. We run an osprey viewing station, nature discovery activities for children and lead nature walks.
