EAH

Apply to be a ESL Volunteer! Cathedral Gardens, part of EAH Housing, is a nonprofit affordable housing unit located in downtown Oakland, CA. Residents are low-income families who have limited resources.

We are looking for a volunteer who can committ 2-4 hours a week to teach English to a diverse range of people, including young children, older adults, and seniors whose native languages include Amharic, Arabic, Farsi, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and much more.

Volunteers who can come in on Tuesday evenings between the hours of 4pm-9:30pm would be ideal. However, we are flexible with hours.

A simple placement test has recently been completed and is available for the volunteer to review and get started quite quickly.

If you look forward to gaining teaching experience especially with teach English (TESL/TESOL/TEFL), we would love to hear from you! This is a great opportunity for people looking for a stepping stone to a career in teaching, as well as for those who are already certified and looking to give back to the community. If you are interested, please contact the Resource Coordinator, Connie at conniem.chan@eahhousing.org for more information!
