Job Description

Position Title: Social Media and Content Manager Intern

Classification: Part-time or Full-time

Compensation: Unpaid

Position Summary:

As the Social Media and Content Manager (intern/volunteer) for MOMS, you will drive the day-to-day operational work of social media marketing and drive the overall strategy of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy, community-outreach efforts, promotions, program updates etc.

  • Manage presence in social networking sites including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, instagram and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed

  • Create an effective marketing strategy that includes collaborating with local agencies, using social media and correspondence to highlight a specific program

  • Optimize social media channels to increase follower base, engagement and traffic to our blog and website

  • Manage day-to-day publishing, uploading and monitoring on social media channels

  • Send Monthly newsletters

  • Monitor digital reputation

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Wordpress)

  • A minimum of being enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program

  • Majoring in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Psychology, or a related field

  • Experience in marketing is a plus

  • Effective interpersonal, listening, writing, and presentation skills

  • Ability to independently initiate projects and activities

  • Able to work 5-10 hours per week

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Attentive to details

  • Dedication, motivation, and commitment to the job at hand

  • Minimum 1 year commitment
