Job Description

Position Title: Business & Finance Intern or Volunteer

Classification: Part-time or full-time with the possibility of promotion in the future

Compensation: Unpaid Probationary Period


Position Summary:

The Business/Finance Intern will help spearhead MOMS fundraising endeavors as well as establish relationships with businesses within the community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement fundraising campaigns

  • Initiate cold calls to local businesses for funding, sponsorships, and in kind donations

  • Establish partnerships within the local community

  • Expand new avenues for funding, such as eScrips, Nickels for Nonprofits, etc.

  • Locate and apply for grant opportunities from local foundations, corporations, and state/federal funding opportunities

  • Secure in-kind donations for office supplies and silent auction items


Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of being enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program, graduate degree prefered

  • Majoring in Finance, Accounting, or related fields, as well as fields related to social impact

  • Able to work 5 hours per week

  • Prior experience with raising funds

  • Must have a friendly and professional speaking voice with strong phone etiquette skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Attentive to details

  • Must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization
