The Lansdale Farmer’s Market has been operating under volunteer power for seven years. Running a market takes a lot of time and resources would really appreciate your supportas we seek to keep improving the Market and making it a welcoming place for the community to cometogether. Opening day is Saturday, May 21 and continues through Saturday, November 5, 2016.
WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT (2 Positions Available)
- Arrive 8:45am to set up machine and outreach materials
- Swipe debit/credit/EBT cards and distribute tokens to market goers throughout the day
- Perform fundamental arithmetic
- Communicate with Market Manager, Customers and respective Vendors
- Maintain transaction receipts and credit to respective vendors
- Take down machine and outreach materials by 1:15
- This position requires commitment
SATURDAY MARKET VOLUNTEER (2-4 Positions Available)
- Arrive at 8:45am
- Contact Market Manager for any additional market updates
- Display/sell market merchandise including but not limited to Market T-Shirts, canvas bags, and bottled water
- Maintain newsletter sign up list
- Greet market customers from 9am - 1pm at Info Tent
- At close of market, secure all merchandise and reconciliation sheets and give to manager Market Manager
- Talk with Manager and pass along any visitor comments, questions or concerns
- Pack up flyers, pens, badges, banner, bumper stickers etc. and put in plastic volunteer box
- This position requires commitment
DISTRIBUTER/SURVEY TAKER (3-4 Positions Available)
- Help distribute various materials throughout the pre-season as well as during the season, as directed by Market Manager
- Social media customer surveys, as directed by Market Manager

Description
It began with a seed. In this case, an idea was planted in Lansdale Borough by a group of neighborhood residents, councilmembers and businessowners, such as Tabora Farms owner Caleb Torrice, Renew Community Church Pastor J.R. Briggs and Molly Whetstone. The market was originally established by volunteers in 2008, and in that first season was located on Railroad Plaza near Main and Madison streets. In seven years, the idea grew into a strong group of volunteers dedicated to the success of what had grown to be a federally recognized non-profit incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
