HEIDI DUCKLER DANCE THEATRE/Northwest seeks a VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE.

Position Description:

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre/Northwest is seeking someone who has strong creative and interpersonal skills, an eye for detail, the ability to manage data, and a passion for the performing arts.

The Volunteer Development Associate will work strategically with the Managing Director on fundraising and donor-relations efforts. Associate will have the opportunity to gain transferable working experience in the non-profit sector. Associate will develop micro-campaigns under the overall annual budget goals in an effort to maintain objectives throughout the year. Associate will need to be creative when collaborating on development efforts.

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre/Northwest volunteers receive complimentary tickets to all performances, not including annual fundraiser.

Position reports to: Managing Director

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research funding opportunities
  • Draft and submit LOI’s and grant applications
  • Maintain records of activities within programs as they relate to direct grant funding.
  • Work with Managing Director to analyze success and shortfalls of development activities


Required Qualifications:

Candidates must know Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Candidates must be internet savvy. Helpful to know Adobe Suite (including Photoshop, InDesign, Reader) and website design, but not necessary. Candidates must be prepared to see projects through to completion.

Candidates must have some experience in fundraising and/or writing grants. Coursework in non-profit fundraising and/or non-profit management is acceptable.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Knowledge of digital media management
  • Undergraduate college degree required
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience. Background in the arts preferred.



Salary/Hours:

This is a volunteer position. The Volunteer Development Associate is a part-time position of 10-15 hours per week. Regular hours to be fulfilled between 8:00am-Noon, Monday- Friday. Some nights and weekend hours required during performances. Associate may complete tasks remotely.
