Gear for Goals is a dynamic sports/arts project of Dreamweaver International (501c3) charity. The Gear for Goals project believes every child in the world should have access to sports and the arts. Over 1 billion children live in poverty and their access is unattainable in most cases because the equipment is not available because of cost or transportation challenges. As a result, children are not given the opportunity to grow and develop important skills that can lift them out of poverty.

Skills like:
1. Leadership
2. Teamwork
3. Conflict resolution
4. Handling dissapointment/defeat
5. Self confidence/certainty
These skills and more are not being seeded in the minds and hearts of children and as a result we have struggled in many areas of the world to alleviate poverty and suffering. As you examine the most prosperous nations in the world, there are many advantages they hold - ONE OF THEM IS ACCESS TO SPORTS AND THE ARTS. While the poorest countries in the world HAVE LIMITED OR NO ACCESS. This is tragic when there is so much unused sports equipment and musical instruments/other arts genre items that go unuesed and are wasted.
Working with local missionary teams, churches, vacationers, and other charities, Gear for Goals collects gently used sports items and musical instruments and then provides them to these teams to take to children in under resourced countries. Since 2012, the project has helped over 400,000 children in 29 countries have access to sports and the arts. Our work has mostly been out of Chicago and we are now looking to expand into other areas including Central Florida (Orlando, Daytona, Jacksonville, Deland), Dallas, and Atlanta.
If you have a heart for children and love sports or the arts, this could be a great opportunity for you to work and make a huge difference in the world. We are looking for highly motivated and self starter type volunteers that can be the leaders and developers of the Gear for Goals project in these locations or other areas. We can help you with materials and know how along with coaching and collaboration to develop these regions, collect the sports equipment, and deliver to the teams taking the gear abroad. There are also opportunities to travel to Kenya, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and other regions we have a strong presence of service in.
So if you are looking for somthing special that you can know you are really making a difference in the lives of children, this is the opportunity for you. To learn more, contact Dr. Warren Bruhl (Executive Director - Dreamweaver) and he can get you started. Email: dr.bruhl@dreamweaver911.org
Presently, we have a large team leaving from Jacksonville, Florida in July and need 1000-2000 lbs of equipment ASAP. So we are looking for volunteers in this area ASAP.
