Mission Statement

The African Dream Academy Inc. (ADA) is a Liberian, not-for-profit corporation, which opened its doors for the first time on September 10, 2012, welcoming 140 children in Grades Pre-kindergarten through Grade Four. These were children who, otherwise, would never have received an education, since their families could not afford the normal school fees of Liberian public schools. ADA, a tuition-free, co-ed school located on Robertsfield Highway, Monrovia West Africa, was able to open largely due to the support of the African Dream Academy Foundation (ADAF), a New York State registered charity, whose mission is to reduce poverty and foster sustainable development by empowering African children through education. The Foundation continues to seek support for ADA as the Academy continues to expand.

Description

After completing its second academic year in June 2014, ADA had to remain closed for eight months due to the tragic Ebola pandemic, which, until recently, gripped West Africa. Thankfully, after new cases of Ebola were reduced to practically zero, the school was allowed to reopen on March 2, 2015. While Liberia is now struggling to restore its economy and critically needed services, including education, ADA is playing a critical part in this effort by offering tuition-free classes from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Six to the poorest of Liberia's children, many of whom were orphaned by Ebola.Due to enormous demand for enrollment from both former and new students, as well as the Liberian government, ADA agreed in February to expand its student population from 270 students in 2013-14 to 443 for the new academic year. This reflects the fact that ADA is recognized as a haven of safe, reliable and superior education for elementary students.
