Serve on an independent organizing board, helping to set policies, procedures and goals for an Emergency Resource ROom in support of Child Protective Services caseworkers and client needs. Abilene Community Partners has ongoing opportunities for individuals to help support its annual activities, including but not limited to:
* Develop and support community programs, which are designed to meet the critical needs of abused and neglected children through state and local collaborations
* Establish resources through partnerships with public/ private organizations which will support the work of the Community Partners and CPS
* Maintaining an emergency resource room for children in care
* Supporting the Taylor County Child Welfare Board in fundraising
* Organizing appreciation events for CPS caseworkers
* Supporting events such as Back to School, Holiday Toy Drives and other holiday events for children in care
Members may also conduct their own third-party fundraising/ in kind drives with their church, business, family and friends, etc.

Description
Abilene Community Partners is a subcommittee of the Taylor County Child Welfare Board (TCCWB). TCCWB supports Child Protective Services in an effort to advocate for and increase the effectiveness of services to vulnerable children and families while promoting prevention of child abuse and neglect so that all children live in a loving, nurturing and safe environment.
