Did you ever want to learn more about the sun or the night sky? How about using a telescope? You can do all of this while creating the opportunity for museum visitors and offsite community groups to have an real-time astronomical observing experience! Learn how to operate many different kinds of telescopes (including those in Adler's Doane Observatory) and share your knowledge of the skies with Adler visitors. No experience is necessary: we'll train you on everything you need to know. Telescope Volunteers also increase our visitors' understanding of the types of telescopes that exist and more fully understand their capabilities. This position provides volunteers with opportunities to develop the skills for using telescopes and for teaching this skill to others.
